Rapidly filling order books at Slurry Aeration Management Systems (SAMS Ltd) meant the company needed a supplier of PVC pipe fittings they could rely on for delivery and product quality. Epco's next-day supply capability on the Comer range of PVC pipe, fittings and valves solved the problem, establishing Comer as a key component of SAMS aeration systems.
The company currently builds fully integrated slurry aeration systems for six UK Water Companies, using 10bar PVC pipe and fittings. Tees, sockets, reducers, 45o elbows and hose tails are included in a list of 50mm Comer pipe fittings used. These are jointed by solvent welding for fast and reliable air-tight construction.
Manufactured in Italy, the Comer range is neatly integrated with Epco’s existing ABS and PVC pressure pipe systems, which from stock, cover sizes 20mm to 400mm and ˝-inch to 8-inch. In addition to an extensive choice of both plain and adaptor fittings, Epco offer a wide variety of manual and actuated valve types and accessories, from pipe clips to solvent cement.

The systems provide coarse bubble aeration for wastewater treatment works and farms. Operating at low power, they use controlled segmental mixing, working on one tank zone at a time. They are installed following sludge separators and line batching, or at the dewatering and tankering-away stage.
With almost 30 years’ experience, Comer have a first-class reputation in injection moulded fittings and valves and are soon to open a new production plant in Italy. Comer have ISO 9002 certification and several European quality accreditations for its products, including WRAS in the UK.
